About Lonia AI

Build high-trust software that expands access.

That is our mission. Every product, every architectural decision, every line of code serves it. We build for the people and industries that mainstream technology leaves behind.

The Problem

Technology has a trust deficit.

Most software is built for the average user and retrofits accessibility as an afterthought — if it bothers at all. Regulated industries are forced to choose between modern tools and compliance. Approximately 25% of adults in the United States live with a disability, yet most digital tools fail basic accessibility standards. Patients receive medical bills riddled with errors and have no tools to fight back. The deaf community is cut off from communication tools designed only for hearing users.

The technology industry builds fast and breaks things. We believe the things it breaks are people.

Our Answer

Build it right from the start.

Lonia AI is a mission-driven SaaS company that builds compliance-first, accessibility-forward automation tools. We do not retrofit accessibility. We do not treat compliance as a checkbox. We do not store passwords. These are not features — they are architectural decisions made before the first line of code is written.

We serve two groups that are really two sides of the same coin: underserved communities that technology routinely ignores, and professionals in regulated industries whose compliance burdens prevent them from reaching those communities. By building tools that solve both problems, we remove barriers from every direction — giving professionals the confidence to operate compliantly, and giving communities the access they've been denied.

Our Foundation

The three pillars, in detail

Every Lonia product is built on the same non-negotiable foundation. These are not marketing claims — they are engineering commitments verified through testing, auditing, and architectural review.

Accessibility

WCAG 2.2 Level AA + Section 508 compliance. Built from the ground up, not retrofitted.

  • Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
  • Full keyboard navigation support with visible focus indicators
  • Screen reader compatibility tested with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.2 AA minimums
  • Skip navigation links and ARIA labels on all interactive elements
  • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion and prefers-color-scheme preferences

Accessibility is a right, not a feature. We build for the approximately 61 million adults in the United States who live with a disability.

Compliance

HIPAA-aware PII detection. GDPR-conscious data handling. Full audit trails.

  • Automated PII scanning before any content is published or transmitted
  • Audit logs capturing every significant action with timestamps and user context
  • Data minimization — we collect only what is necessary and delete it when it is not
  • GDPR-conscious consent handling and data subject rights awareness
  • AI provenance tracking for all AI-generated or AI-assisted content

Regulated industries need tools built by people who understand regulatory constraints — not tools that create compliance risk.

Security

OAuth-only authentication. Zero password storage. Encrypted everything.

  • OAuth-only authentication — we never ask for or store user passwords
  • Encrypted tokens at rest and in transit using industry-standard algorithms
  • Row-level security ensuring complete data isolation between users
  • Scoped token permissions — minimal access by default
  • Automatic data deletion after delivery — we do not retain what we do not need

Security is not a feature. It is infrastructure. We eliminate entire categories of risk through architectural decisions.

Leadership

Founded by Mary Leriche

Lonia AI was founded by Mary Leriche — a designer, developer, and systems thinker with over a decade of experience across UX design, software development, healthcare operations, financial services, and accessibility. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and an MBS (MBA + MS in Business and IT/UX Design concentration), and has worked in environments ranging from patient bedside care to corporate billing offices to CPA firms. She's a Mensa member serving on the Membership Committee and is currently pursuing research in climate adaptation and integrative STEM education.

She built Lonia AI because she kept seeing the same pattern: the people who needed technology the most were the ones it was built for the least. Every product in the portfolio exists because Mary saw a specific failure and built the fix.

The name Lonia reflects a commitment to longevity and sustained impact over rapid scaling. The company's philosophy — "lift as I climb" — means every product built, every standard met, and every community served raises the bar for the industry as a whole.

Philosophy

Lift as I climb

This is not just a tagline. It is an operating principle. Every decision at Lonia AI is measured against a simple question: does this expand access for someone who needs it?

Build for the edges

When you build for people with disabilities, you build better products for everyone. Curb cuts, closed captions, voice interfaces — the best features in technology started as accessibility features.

Compliance as advantage

Most companies treat compliance as a cost. We treat it as a competitive advantage. When your tools are already compliant, you unlock markets that competitors cannot enter.

Trust is earned

We do not ask for trust — we engineer it. OAuth-only means we never hold your passwords. Audit trails mean every action is accountable. Auto-delete means we do not keep what we do not need.

Transparency by default

AI provenance tracking, flat-fee pricing, public accessibility statements. We believe people make better decisions when they have complete information.
